I know FrikaC made a cgi-bin version of the quakec interpreter once and wrote part of his website in QuakeC :) (LordHavoc)

I don't think it's even id software anymore. Bethesda Texas more likely.

Also scar3crow has romero's email.

so thats a middleman that can speak tech to devs and business to investers
but also can beat all the devs at their own game.
who cant do that?! ;)

I think Romero's happy in California right now. He'd most likely work for a studio in CA than just Id Software again - especially not when there's clearly an 'embrace extend extinguish' going on.

Come on guys, it was just a joke. (note to self: "/s" obligatory next time).
Unfortunately, I don't think we will ever see both Johns working together again.

And then one day Carmack comes back from Oculus Rift, takes a look around and asks "Who let this guy in?".



Jokes aside, I have no idea if that would work. Id is very different from what it was in the Doom days.

I don't believe Carmack will stay on id after his work on the OR project. And I agree, things are very different from that time to work out.
