Prism, for flash based quake games?

Postby ceriux » Tue Mar 27, 2012 7:37 am

so i'm not sure if you guys have heard about this? but apparently it can increase performance for web based games. wouldn't it be great for something like the web based quake stuff iv seen floating around the forums?

i also tried it out on dead frontier (3d zombie mmo) and it greatly increased my framerate ingame and allowed me to play at higher quality settings.

So, if I understood correctly Prism is some sort of sandbox which permits to run web applications separated from web browser? I can't see the benefits

I can see what they're hoping to do but like said above it seems rather pointless, overall I don't see a huge benefit unless you have a slower system.

Not sure if the separation is less (or more) confusing, but hopefully certain features will get rolled into Firefox transparently. Such as, giving more resources to the foreground Flash/Java/whatever window.
I do see the appeal of a web-based email pop-up. Some online email services have programs to download for this.
