Version 0.85.6 of QuakeSpasm is released:

* Added support for cross-level demo playback
* gl_texturemode is reimplemented as a cvar with a callback and the
setting is automatically saved to the config
* Fixed execution of external files without a newline at the end
* Reduced memory usage during reloading of textures
* Fixed compilation on GNU/kFreeBSD (Debian bug #657793)
* Fixed backspace key on Mac OS X
* Disable mouse acceleration in Mac OS X
* Worked around recursive calling of the anisotropic filter callback
* Console word wrap and long input line fixes
* Verified correct compilation by clang (using v3.0)
* Several other small changes mostly invisible to the end-user

Congrats! :D

It's a bit shocking because there's never been any Quake engines in Debian before (AFAIK).

Plus it seems like DOOM is a more popular game and there's only ever being one Doom engine in Debian, PrBoom, despite the fact there are many out there, and that one is pretty much dead (has not had any updates for several years).

I appreciate the gl_texturemode cvar. I like to set "gl_nearest".

..That's funny because I run the Darkplaces quake engine all the time in Debian. :wink:

"Get into Debian" is a fun and rewarding achievment, especially if it's "universe".

I see darkplaces is in testing and unstable, but I've never seen a Quake engine in the stable repository (like lenny or squeeze) before.

darkplaces is there as nexuiz-engine or some package like that.

Oh, didn't realize you meant in the repository, but now I do. It's true other than what spike said, Nexuiz is power by darkplaces.
