I would if I could. I'm only a lowly mod, not an admin. Maybe I should ask FrikaC or scar3crow to upgrade me?

BELETED and DANNED.
If you see spam, let me know either through icq, irc, pm or email (icq = fastest). I keep an eye on the forums through my rss feed, so generally I spot it if it's plainly obvious from the topic title. Do not reply to the spam. Replies make it look like a legitimate thread, and make me less likely to delete it.
Dr S., you are now an admin.

Additionally, flood protection is now 6 minutes. So you must wait 6 minutes between making posts. This is up from 15 seconds. This is temporary until I find the time to install the new software. It's kind of annoying but the idea is if we get another tidal wave it won't be as huge.

Phpbb allows you to require that membership is approved, manually by an admin, before anyone can post. As an additional (temporary) measure, you can make it so that all posts need to be approved before appearing. As an avid, daily reader of i3d, I'm happy to help.

Cool, thanks for the upgrade.
I usually will check in here at least once or twice a day even when I'm busy (which is too frequently these days...), sometimes more so I'll do my best to help keep the spammers out.

OOOOOOkaaaaaaay
Once again, you can tell with more than reasonable accuracy who is a spammer before they even post by sorting the memberlist, descending by join date. Looking for 0 posts and homepage links with names of businesses.
On the first page alone, It's pretty clear that these are all spam accounts:
If it would be appreciated, I'd be more than willing to go through the whole list and pull out the obvious candidates.
Even more willing if there were a flag system so I could just click a checkbox and hit submit.
AAAAAaaaaand I'm waiting what is it...6 minutes for this edit to go through?
*sigh*
