Release of INCAS vs PHARAOHS

Today sees the official release of my mod INCAS vs PHARAOHS, over at my QExpo11 both! You can download it from Quaketastic by clicking here. In this mod, you battle against your enemy by gradually destroying the platforms on his/her side of the level while using of a few "artefacts," power-ups that spice up the game. This release also means the official launch of the INCAS vs PHARAOHS mapping competion. More info on this event and its prizes is available at this event booth.

Screenshot looks great! I really like the concept of the game.

I cannot download it now since 13 mb is too much for my internet (FML) but I really want to try it. Does it come with the source?

I've compiled a smaller version of it (2.54 megs), so that maybe now it'll be more manageable for you to download. I took out most of the non-essentials, though (new menu background, music tracks, some high-res textures, help file, a demo, but also the source for the map). I left the source for the mod itself. Not an ideal thing (I'd encourage everyone who can to download the bigger version), but you'll still be able to play the mod

The mod fails to load saying "failed to exec maps/start.way

Well's that odd. By "fail to load," do you mean it crashes?

What engine are you using? I have to say I have only tested it with Darkplaces and, given the mod's crucial use of transparency, I'd say it's the first engine of choice for it.

Have you actually loaded up the map? Otherwise, after launching a multiplayer game, simply call the console and type "map macadamia1". There are way files for that map, so maybe that will solve the issue.
