Looking for team members for commercial project

Postby js501 » Sun May 22, 2011 8:50 pm

We are seeking to develop a commercial total conversion of the ID game "Quake 1" with possible profits of $2,000 USD per team member per month after the work is finished.

The game will have a monthly/yearly subscription of about $5 per month.

It would be modern, in a real-life setting, and also a chat/messsenger and also player stat tracking and ranking system would be built in.

We will be working with the available engine source code for 'Quake 1" which is open source and allowed for commercial use under the GNU. We will also use the existing Quake 1 sound files/models/maps as guidelines for what kind or how many sounds/models/maps we need to make.

The theme, style, and setting of the game will be discussed amongst the team and will be developed as communication and opinions about them converge more and more into something everyone agrees on.

We are looking for 4 members for each of the following teams:
Coding team
We are looking for anyone with experience coding in QuakeC, C, or C++.

Sound team
We are looking for anyone with a music background, that has recorded/developed sounds with a computer before.

Graphics team
We are looking for anyone with previous experience in creating/modifying Quake 1 model files, or other Quake series model files.

Level design team
We are looking for anyone with experience making maps for Quake 1.

Webpage design team
We are looking for anyone with experience in working with HTML, PHP, flash, java , etc for building websites.

Designer consultant team
We are looking for anyone with general knowledge of the current popular 3d online games and their trends for advice on game development.

Marketing team
We are looking for anyone with experience in marketing/selling products/services online.

Testing team
We will need a group of testers who would be willing to test out the game during development. They just need experience playing 3d games online.

If you would like to join any of these teams, please either reply to this thread or email me at js501@live.com with the team your interested in joining.

Thanks

The theme, setting, and style of the game will be continually developed among the team members until all the ideas converge into something everyone agrees on.

The basic idea is that the game will be realistic and unilateral.
Instead of having several modes of play which divides the community, it will be centered on Deathmatch mode, and with the ability to pick up weapons. Weapons won't spawn at intervals but will be picked up from fragged players, or bought from a store. Thus it will be as realistic as possible.
