I'm yet to encounter a comment on the whole issue that didn't seem to be compilations of hearsay leading up to a summary of assumptions. Combine that with a lot of painting of individuals in certain ways, and I am left with no reason, personally speaking, to regard anyone as even beginning to be an authoritative voice on the matter.

The only ones I can fathom being close to such are the original authors, hence, authoritative - Vermeulen and LordHavoc.

I don't care so about the past. I only care about the future. The past is what we learn from to shape a better future. The future is where we are going. No doubt that the true past lies somewhere within the triangle of thoughts experienced by yourself, myself and Irritant.

This isn't the first dramatic open source experience I've seen firsthand or secondhand.

But what I have learned from all of them: keep your integrity and be a clear and convincing benign influence -- even when personally tempted or when communally tempted.

We can argue where the hues of black and white starts to shift to shades of gray. But we all know where solid black and solid white live. I myself strive to live in that solid white area. For better, for worse -- I'm staying there. Not because I "have to", it is just where I choose to be.

I think all of this has worked out the way it was always supposed to be. But I don't think these kinds of experiences are the last ones we will see. But I hope many learn from these experiences to avoid them in the future. So I don't see anything wrong with my benign point of view, even if it isn't 100% accurate. We can argue about shades of gray; my point is that no one goes into shades of gray unwillingly.

The one drawback of DP is that it's too slow to run modern levels even in "Quake mode".

It looks cool with the realtime lighting though.
