Happy new yarr

Reveal your plans for this year, now. Quake/game-dev related matters would probably suit this forum the best.

I'll personally be hard at work letting people down, procrastinating and canceling projects.

OK. Well I'll discuss my plans ignoring the likelihood that none will get completed this year, probably, and certainly not all. After messing about with my christmas mod, I am actually quite keen to be modding again, which I certainly haven't been since the summer.

plans:

earthQuake
Turn based combat, set years after the 'quake' monsters have invaded, conquered and farmed earth.
- I go very hot and cold on this one ...

Raptors2
Has been thought about in my head for years, I have a variety of raptor-types (poorly) coded and new weapons. The main problem is a pretty profound lack of ideas.
- I go very tepid and freezing on this one ....

LunkinR
A SonicR-type racing game (as in running etc., not cars) built around charcaters from Lunkin's Journey. I've made tentative (as in poor) efforts to get Frikbots as competitors, but I'm a mile off anything concrete - I have one map/circuit hand drawn.
- I go very boiling and cold on this one (if I ever get timing/results/firkbot working, I'll be absolutely boiling on it) ....

Lunkin2dp "dp" as in darkplaces. I've 3 vague-ish storylines floating around, 2 of which I really like. I had no intention of doign a second one as I hated the last 2 months of making LJ. AFter making LCC:TGTSC I have begun tidying up/shredding the code from LJ, and it's the most liekly mod at the moment to get worked on.
- I'm pretty much hot on this, for the time being at least.

Other than Quake stuff, I'm meant to be doing a degree, I need to get some fitness back after a good 8 months training last year was spoilt by two injuries towards the end, I'm playing my 360 a lot, especially PGR3, going to be working on my Family Tree at some point, and finally, maybe changing jobs.

Happy New Year :) :) :) :)

Well, my biggest project this year's probably going to be learning C#. I've had a game in the back of my mind for about six years now, and I think it's about time I actually make it!

Quake-related, I've still got Panzer to work on. I really need to get some bots done, and I ought to add a second map too. That said, even the first map still needs work...

I'll also be making Gyro 2 and a couple of tutorials when I get round to them!

I'm actually halfway hopeful that I will actually be able to release something completed this year. Though this may just be the new year's birthday boy enthusiasm.

Current Project:
TROH Advanced: Keeper of Pain (TAKOP)

Weapons insertion from the rotting remains of CBSEV2 is going quite well indeed. Once they're in, final tweaks, bugfixes, and additional weapons and the item system will be added. Once that's done, finally comes the monsters. Don't expect anything too fancy though, and odds are good you won't see more than maybe a few new faces amongst the original quake crowd (with variants of course)

I'm also going to be trying to focus more on honing my crude mapmaking skills, so as to maybe be finally able to take advantage of all the nice crap I shove into the mod.

Well, LordHavoc, SantaClaws, Urre, and Entar keep yelling at me to learn QC. So maybe I will.

If I do, I would like to code:

Kombai - I say no more because I think I could actually complete and release this, so hey.

Domination - I love it. And you should know what it is.

Contribute to Transfusion because Blood rocks.

Post news ?
