I know FrikaC made a cgi-bin version of the quakec interpreter once and wrote part of his website in QuakeC :) (LordHavoc)

Yeah, read it on planetquake. Trinca did release a map that day.

July 22 is the day for me (registered Quake anniversary date). Yeah shareware came out on June 22, but that just isn't the "day" for me.
The night is young. How else can I annoy the world before sunsrise? 8) Inquisitive minds want to know ! And if they don't -- well like that ever has stopped me before ..

Initial shareware releases are always celebrated as birthdays, Doom is always birthdayed on Dec 10 for the 1.00 release fyi
