Alien Arena 2010 released.
Wasn't sure who to submit the news to, so I'll just post it....
Alien Arena 2010 has been released today!
The latest edition of this open sourced, freeware FPS has been updated with new levels, several new weapon models, and a host of bugfixes, gameplay tweaks, and client improvements.
Some of the new features include:

- Improvements to shadow rendering
- New disruptor and beamgun models
- Security and memory leak fixes
- Improved weapon balance and other gameplay tweaks
- Kickban added to callvote
- Lightgrouping for faster real time processing
- Revamped menu font system

I love that black/green liquid thing you got going, how is that done? Is it some custom shader? I'm thinking I might be able to pull off something similar in DP using a black diffuse, green gloss and a normalmap.

Are you talking about the shell effects for deaths and powerups? If so, yeah, that's a GLSL shader doing that. Not sure if that is something that can be done in DP or not, I'm not too familar with their shader system at all(though I do know it uses GLSL for some things).

Ah ok, that is the liquid shader, check out data1/scripts/water_fragment.glsl and water_vertex.glsl to see how that is done. I don't know if you can do that in DP or not.
