Congrats! :)

Always cool to see new Alien Arena releases, even though I rarely find time to play it.
I was once a Quake modder

I think it's Q3 with Marsians and new weapons :-P

It's well done though. Good job on the new release. *goes to update*

Thanks :)

Actually it's based off of Q2.

Gameplay is for the most part completely rewritten, it's alot more like UT than Quake in that regard.

Great to see Quake 2 mods are still kickin'! I've been meaning to give this a try, and I think now's as good a time as any..

Q2 was used mostly because both projects were developed prior to the Q3 source being released. Qfusion was already by that time pretty similar as far as it's file formats, shaders, etc, so I'm sure they saw no point in switching. In our case with CRX, we just cobbled out the parts of Q3 that we wanted into it. So technically there is some Q3 in there, but it's based originally on Q2. The renderer still bears some similarities to Q2 structurally anyway, but it's all GLSL shader driven now.
