A better question is: have YOU played it?
I'm not trying to diss mauve or DiD, I'm just saying that it was very limited by the lack of engine features available at the time he coded it. It is an amazing project, don't get me wrong, but a fully-functional RTS with all the GUIs, fog of war, and other aspects.. CSQC is the *sane* way to do it.

Urban Kid,
please never type in all caps, I'm way over 30 and it's a little hard to read for me.
Cool idea, and as I see in the forum you linked, you got a few supporters pretty quickly, but you might really get problems with Blizzard if you don't make your maps and models and sounds look different enough from theirs.
You should take the basic gameplay of Starcraft 1, and make a game that plays like it, but looks like your own thing. Sit down and come up with some new units and buildings, like for example these guys do:

My 2 cents.
You don't want their lawyers ripping your ass open, because that may seriously suck. I believe Blizzard would not like your project, especially since Broodwar is played professionally and they have Starcraft 2 coming out.
Don't get yourself in trouble kid
