I'll download that and watch it soon.

Another Galactix would rock, but it would also suck up free time like crazy. :}
When my computer inevitably explodes and kills me, my cat inherits everything I own. He may be the only one capable of continuing my work.

Wow, that's some pretty intense gameplay.

Up until the final boss battle I wan't convinced that the player could actually die or even take damage, since I didnt' see it happening. I could tell he was making a concentrated effort to avoid shots and take safe routes, but... half the time I couldn't tell what was a hit and what was a miss.

And I know I couldn't play that fast with that much precision... man he/she's good!

However, this type of game isn't quite what I'd want Galactix uh... 2 to be (if there ever is a Galactix 2 done by my hand). The bullets are way too concentrated, and I just can't see a normal human being ever loving me again if I made it that hard. :)

There is one interesting thing I noticed, however -- a slow-mo function. When the player was in a tight spot, he/she must have held a button that slowed down time. That would be a cool function in Galactix, and it's very do-able.

That's been done to death such as Gradius III for the SNES (well, it was unintentional!)

:) As the video went on for me, I was getting the idea it must have been a bot playing.. also the collision model seems to be very generous (a bullet would have to hit him right at the centre or something to actually get him).

If not...well, for every weird and/or impossible thing, there's some Japanese kid who can do it :S

The collision model thing is nothing new. Try the games here for example, you can see dots on each shot so you know exactly where to avoid. On that site I recommend rRootage. If that doesn't inspire a Galactix sequel nothing will. :wink:

Wowww! Fun game (I beat the stages through 2C but I barely made 2C... tough!!)

And I just played Galactix again... man that game is tough! It makes 'rRootage' seem like a piece of cake :shock: I wish I could pass even 1 level in Galactix.....
