Configuring weapon models in DarkPlaces

Hey people,

I just finished an animated weapon for my project. I made it in 3DS Max and exported the mesh and animation to HL1 SMD. Then, i used dpmodel to generate MD3 and DPM model files. Everything perfect until now, however... well, i don't have any clue on how to configure the weapon, it's animations and so on, and put it inside the game.

I tried searching for a few tuts, as well looking at some of the original quakec source, and dpmod source, with no luck at all. All weapon codes are very confusing. Can anyone help me out here?

I'm planning to use MD3 or DPM, whatever works better. The model has around 190 animation frames. I attached the model for anyone interested in helping me out: http://rapidshare.com/files/237241869/ak47.zip.html
