One of my more bare Quake folders has libogg.dll, libvorbisfile.dll, zlib1.dll, libjpeg.dll, libvorbis.dll, libmodplug-0.dll, libpng12.dll, libcurl-4.dll, and sdl.dll

The engines are quake, winquake, glquake, vquake, fitzquake, darkplaces and darkplaces-sdl

I'm pretty sure all of those dlls came from DarkPlaces, since in making this folder, I made a folder, made a subfolder called id1, plopped pak0 and pak1 in it, and then in the main folder, unzipped the normal DP download, and it all worked. Later on I grabbed Fitz and the standard binaries from my old folder.

BTW, my music folder is sound/cdtracks/track0xx.ogg

Theres seriously no install for Quake, just get pak0 and pak1 in the id1 subfolder of wherever you unzipped the engine you want to use and all is well - including ogg playback if you did a normal unzip of the DP zip =)
...and all around me was the chaos of battle and the reek of running blood.... and for the first time in my life I knew true happiness.

Looks like it. The bolded files are needed for .ogg playback.

Yes, because the music wasn't working. :)

Still isn't, btw, but the game is still playable so I'm progressing anyway. I may just have to burn a cd to get the results I want.
