"Other PC Games" Thread.

Func has a "Other PC Games" thread. Should we have one? As a sticky, maybe (or not)?

What new games have you been playing recently?
The latest thing I tried was the demo of Iron Grip Warlord (http://igwarlord.isotx.com/), based on the Q3 engine. It was alright but it did feel a little outdated. I wonder if its maps would load in Darkplaces (I haven't tried) :P

I don't play a whole lot of games on the PC these days (though there are a few that I think look fun), but recently I've been playing...

Team Fortress 2.

Could it just be games rather than just PC games? I too rarely play any games on pc other than quake mods, I play mostly 360 games, so Halo 3 and Gears.

Aside from games on instantaction, I've been playing a little CoD4 mp on a lan... fairly decent game, if schizophrenic in its design and application. I've also been trying to play HL2, but so far its been quite the chore, and... extremely disappointing in every possible facet.

Frankly its hard for me to play other games, its usually just so underwhelming, and I often feel ripped off, in terms of time and money.
...and all around me was the chaos of battle and the reek of running blood.... and for the first time in my life I knew true happiness.

TF2. 2FORT. 4EV4R. 'Nuff said.
I know FrikaC made a cgi-bin version of the quakec interpreter once and wrote part of his website in QuakeC :) (LordHavoc)

I've been playing a lot of Warcraft III, both DOTA and my own map I'm working on. I'll probably post it here to share with you guys when it's ready.

Lots of Starcraft as well. Looking forward to Starcraft II.

I've been playing a little bit of Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I keep forgetting to get back to it. :)

Got into Travian recently. I'll have to see how much I like it as time goes on.

The rest of my time has been spent playing D&D 4th Edition and writing down ideas for my game planning.

That may seem like a lot, but it's not. I get to do one or two of those a week. Working all day and commuting two hours total sucks for a gamer. :/

Cheers!

CocoT: It's pretty good. It's not perfect, but I like how they're adding things as they go along, most of which have been helpful upgrades.

RenegadeC: I don't think that's for PC.

I tried Left 4 Dead and Lego Indiana Jones at my friend's xbox360, and we played them cooperatively :)

At home I've played some hl2 on pc. I played Deus Ex 1 through with Shifter mod some weeks ago. Then started playing Deus Ex 2, but it just wasn't so fun. I when I've finished with hl2, I'll play Unreal 1.

As we're widening it beyond just PC, I have mostly been playing:
- Halo 3 co-op with my son
- Gears of War (replaying all the way thru' as my saves got corrupted, and as prep for #2 on Xmas Day!)
- Left 4 Dead demo
