id games 50% off this weekend on Steam
I thought you guys would like to know that Steam is selling Quake, Quake 2 and Quake 3: Arena PLUS the expansions packs (SoA, DoE, Ground Zero, The Reckoning and Quake 3 : Team Arena) for US$19.99 only this weekend. I am downloading mine right now.
I know FrikaC made a cgi-bin version of the quakec interpreter once and wrote part of his website in QuakeC

Yea, I saw that. It's really too bad my bank account is locked down right now (my work's paychecks kept bouncing for several months and my credit union finally got suspicious and locked me down for over a month to keep an eye on what's going on). I'd love to buy that. I already legally own all the games, but not the expansion packs (except DoE), and would love to get those.
It's cool that Steam's become such a prolific distribution channel for a lot of games from different companies, including older ones like Quake and under-appreciated ones like Psychonauts.
BTW, what engine are they distributing for Quake? Old glquake?

And no soundtracks come with it.

Ouch, the soundtrack is an important feature. It's not integral but... DOE wouldn't have been the same without it.

Yeah, it's a shame we can't have the soundtrack, too.
