I like the soft shadows on the vegetation. Terrain collision/walking/sliding will be interesting to see.

Re: What are you working on?
Yeah at the moment, I am just sort of playing around, much more tweaking/reshaping will occur. Trying to get the hang of creating the terrains, it's not editor friendly just yet, though once you get the hang of it, it isn't so hard, a lot of trial and error though.
It does have a vegetation system that is controlled by painting an image. Same with the texture blending, etc. Once we've solidified the tech, and gotten it to work in Radiant as well, we'll write up tutorials. There is still a lot to be done yet though.

Re: What are you working on?
Toying with a silly little gamemode idea (to be implimented later in Smash) inspired by the Deity system present in roguelikes like Powder.
I'm calling it "Gods Hate ProGamers" or GHPG for short. It revolves around rather silly debuffs activated by things like bunnyhopping, etc.
What kind of debuffs? Things like players getting turned into rabbits that hop around without control (but still move at a snails pace), a tiny angel parking infront of a player's view that slaps them nonstop with a fish throwing off their aim, getting turned into a nearly stationary helpless refreshment fountain that other players can use (at the fountain's expense), etc.

For that to work effectively you'd also need something like OA's videoflags - to lock the FOV and picmip values. Thank god GLQuake engines never adopted Q2's r_intensity.

Sweet! I wish more of the fancy Quake engines would consider ways for making their specular look less 2005.

Re: What are you working on?
added combat code for regular quake and a better waypoint rendering using
a QMB bubble to the engineside bot "Tsumi to Botsu" from rich whitehouse,
which was only for the quake mod Slide.
