I have finished a Quake SP level Tormentarium.

Image

I had made some static entities like a pumping machine, a waterfall using a coiling slide, pipes with rolling surfaces
to expose turbulence in stead of animated textures, and a weird tessla coil.
So I decided to place them in some sort of factory with wrenching pipes so that they would suit fine.

Now I've recompiled a HL2 model to Quake1 and decide to use a rocketjump for animation pose.
Didn't see that in Quake on behalve of the player healthcount, which is the reason it isn't one of my favorite moves.

Thank you for your new map.

Hello frag.machine,
Could you write 1 or 2 words about the status of your really great looking start map replacement ?
I love the ambience you put into it.
Any chance to pre-test it ? :P

LOL man, completely forgot about that map... Sorry, I don't even know if I still have it. It's incomplete, as you may already suspect.
I wasn't happy about the teleporters and ran out of cool ideas. Maybe I manage to finish it during my Xmas vacancy. No promises though.
I know FrikaC made a cgi-bin version of the quakec interpreter once and wrote part of his website in QuakeC :) (LordHavoc)

Hello frag.machine,
Seeing so many wonderful things in this very thread and now reading that many of them got "fortgotten" by the author himself is hard to believe for me :)
How can this be ?
Anyhow, I would love (and I think others too) to see your nice looking start replacement.
You put some ruins in there and wide open areas/spaces.
That is the ambience that I like so much in Quake (the medieval/fantasy) and that is why I think you should finish it.
What a nice christmas present this would be...

It's when Doom 3 does screenshots.

The map runs faster than vanilla Doom 3.

That floor looks like the Grand Canyon of fear :D

I'm not sure it's just the fps counter, the game actually stalls and my view is turned to the sky after a screenshot is taken.

Anyway I don't care, I didn't post that shot for the FPS counter...
