lesson for the next QExpo Absolutely. Though of course I didn't expect Chip to do the news on top it - in case my posts came across that way. Submitting news to PQ might have worked, but that's not the way it's supposed to be, right? Originally the PQ crew used to check the common Quake sites regul...

Yes, I know about the Tastycasts and tried to listen to them as much as by bandwidth would allow. That was good. However, I meant something in written form that would have been more easily accessible and immediate to the site. It would have made for a smoother, more rounded-off overall experience es...

Some comments on the recent release. I think this is nice from technical perspective, taking on the old software engine was unexpected, and putting in modern features. Good stuff there. Many good addtions to the menu without cluttering it too much like other engines do. I don't like the new HUD - th...

Great event with some haphazardness and technical flaws

Overall it was great and there was a surprisingly high number of booths, possibly more than on any of the previous expos. Lots of cool and interesting projects and releases. I still haven't been able to actually play many of them unfortunately. Good events, too, though with limited participation (pe...

news

Yes, the possibility for small images would be nice. Changing random booths and events as per CocoT's suggestion is the way to go imho. They are not as important as the news, especially since there is no other way of knowing if or when a booth has been updated. The news bit on the front page should ...

The awesomeness of Quake is defined by 15 years of people idealizing and romanticizing every merit and shotcoming.

News

Seconded. And maybe the news should be on top of the page, the (very spacious) random booths and events boxes below.

Wixen1 & DrDire: Take it easy, this is not an issue worth going political over or anything.

QUAKE EXPO 2011 IS LIVE Well, that was kinda unexpected... some booths are still empty. Note that Madfox seems to have made three identical booths by accident, or rather added two faulty ones along his intended one. The booth/event seperation feels somewhat odd. I can either make Q1SM a booth or an ...

Wixen1: So, uh, my Q2C account still isn't approved even though it's now clear I'm not one of those spammers/troll users.
Okay, I take that back about the ugliness and all....

Ah, I think the problem was that I posted the internal link to the booth, not the official one (view.php vs. detail-view.php or similar). Thanks for taking care of it. Another minor thing that's slightly misleading: the contact box mentions the number of booths the corresponding user has (why not li...

Kind of not good indeed. This should be fixed asap.
I hacked necros' booth for fun and to test this issue, and now it's listed under "my booths" too. Hope this doesn't create any problems on his end. Sorry mate.. :)

Well, it was the only lightweight editor I found, and I did not bothered to implement some kind of private directories, as I was more than sure that the majority of members will use third-party image uploading sites. I'll look into it, though. I see. I thought maybe the system could automatically c...

Chip, I'm setting up a first draft of my booth right now. The image uploading system is a bit awkward to use but it does the job. What I'm concerned about, however, is the fact that apparently every registered member, or those with booths anyway, seems to have full access of all the uploaded files a...

Interesting. I had a situation a couple of days ago where I visited a website and it told me my ip had been banned and I was like "wtf, never been here before". This is a temporary internet solution I'm on at the moment (prepaid mobile internet stick) since I left my old ISP. Apparently th...

A link to tastyspleen.net (Q2) on the qx site? And could you tell the Q2Cafe guys that they are encouraged to create booths and present their ongoing map projects even if they aren't finished yet. Just to generate some interest and show that there's still a tiny bit of activity for Quake 2. It also ...
