I'm Entar. I started with engine programming, and Quake in general (besides playing the demo way back when) in 2004, primarily at QSG, and worked on a few different Quake 1 engine projects since then. I've done a little bit of QC too, with my IQ and later vr2mod projects, and I've made maps for vr2m...

Entar: the idea is to use DarkPlaces, as it has very useful video capturing abilities, and can run most mods. The question still is if engines would be included, I'm not sure how to present them, unless they're eyecandy oriented. Sure, but to clarify, vr2mod (as opposed to the Vr2 engine) is a QC m...

I don't know if it'd show particularly well in a video, but you could include a little of vr2mod . There's not a whole lot of visual difference (more if you were to use Vr2 engine over GLQuake or something), because my mods were mostly just code, but you could maybe show a little deathmatch with bot...

Same for me. I get a general idea in my head (maybe very rarely I'll put down a basic sketch, if the idea is real complicated, or if I feel a special need to visualize it) then go at it with the editor.

I think a large factor is that Inside3D isn't really known as relating to graphics development, but more to QC, and some talk about other engine coding.

If done well, I think that could be a pretty fun mod. Maybe throw some AI in there, and/or online multiplayer (maybe use DP for less lag).

http://entar.quakedev.com/screenshots/skycastle1.jpg Sky Castle by Entar Download link I recommend you play the level with DarkPlaces , as that was the engine I used while developing the map, and I know the skybox (which is one of those included in the TransloQuake demo 2) is setup to work correctl...

So I guess I'm participating in this one after all, since you went and pushed back the deadline and all. I already have a first draft done, but it could use some polishing I think. Just to be clear, is the new deadline now the 30th (two weeks after the 16th) or is the 16th of August the new, already...

That confirms my suspicions that a lot of those updates weren't really necessary. I do hope you caught the parentheses I'd left out above, by the way... ;) Well, I actually took the idea and made it work in my engine (which is just slightly different, as it adds +0.5 so as to round to the nearest w...

I'm not real good at QC, but my guess is that you need to put your check in the player's .touch function, and set a .variable for the player (or flag or something) in there if other.classname == "func_bomb_target" - then, when the player tries to use C4, check that variable.

mh: I tried your idea of checking whether an angle change, once converted to a byte, will make any difference, and added a Console print in cases that it caught bits that were not useful but would otherwise have been added. It caught more than I expected, though not a gigantic bunch. I deem it a use...

You could always just record yourself swearing into a microphone with Sound Recorder that comes with Windows, then use that same software to slow it down, which would give you a nice low pitch announcement. :)

Surely if the Strogg had actually posessed such technology, they would not have resorted to sending attack fleets through space, but rather have simply just gated in entire armies of Strogg to set up bases and assimilation centres. Slipgates don't just teleport you to anywhere, they teleport you to...
