I went through a few e1 maps and noticed one thing though; that the enemies and power ups and other models like that are translucent most of the time [sometimes they're not for a second]. I'm not sure if they are supposed to be like that [i get the feeling it's not], and I can't find how to turn it...

I'm having a problem with Lost Chapters: False Esteem by Vondur, when dying in lava, when you respawn your screen still have the orange 'tint' that shows up when you fall in lava. Probably not without some heuristics. You could test if the player gets progressively further away from the monster after it see's/is attacked by the player.
